Sephora!

I know that the US Sephora web site won't ship to me while I'm over here in Germany, but since there's other European stores, maybe you could contact them and have them send it to you. Or if you have a friend in the US send it to them and have them send it to you!

Sephora also tends to have very competitive prices.

They also offer a ';Get Started'; kit (I've looked into getting the bare mineral also). The kit comes with something like 3 shades so you can pick which one matches you without wasting money on a shade that doesn't match you. The started kit also has a guide on how to apply it and all that stuff. Oh, and I just saw they have free shipping on the ';Get started'; kits! They also have a ';shade finder'; if you'd rather just chance picking out the right one :) Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Bare essentuals ID mineral make up?

Im thinking of trying it out, but it seems expensive. Has anyone tried it? I have very pale skin, how light is the lightest shade? Oh where is the best and cheapest place to buy it from, im thinking ebay, cos I live in the UK.

How do you find this make up?Bare essentuals ID mineral make up?
I've been using it for about 3 years and I LOVE it! I won't use anything else. I have fairly light skin and slight redness, it covers quite nicely! I wear 1.2m so I guess the fairest it comes in is 1. One container, lasts me about 6 months. (I don't wear too much) I would definitely invest in one of their brushes though, the brissels (sp?) are very soft and offer great coverage.

I purchase all of my Bare Minerals from eBay, I usually never spend more than $10, for a container, when the store charges about $26 for it. If you order it from them, it comes with 2 shades, mineral veil, and bronzer, which also assist in a flawless finish. you can probably find a kit on eBay also.

I would DEFINITELY recommend it! ^.^Bare essentuals ID mineral make up?
i also want to try it....ebay is probably the best way to go, i'm sure they probably have ivory for fair skin
its ok but its not great...if you tried other brands mineral makeup you'd know what im talking about...my friend bought the whole starter kit...she has to wear 5layers...thats way too much...
I live in the UK too, and im really interested in it too! i'm goin to france this xmas so i'm going to buy it there, it's very rare to find it in London. It's gotten millions of great - positive reviews, so i have no problem buying it! I think you should try it too.
hey. i have it. i dont know if it works on fair skin as mine kinda tanned. it goes on cakey if u use too much and its not that good on oily skin too but i u have redness it covers it up. its good if u live in the cold weather as it doesnt melt or blow off lik some powder foundations haha

hope it helps - i give it a 6/10

MAC mineral foundation OR Bare Escentuals(ID) mineral foundation?

My skin tends to flake a bit and it is quite dry BUT i need coverage, i heard that the MAC one doesnt give much coverage but they've both had good reviews. Which onee?

Thanks.MAC mineral foundation OR Bare Escentuals(ID) mineral foundation?
Heavier make up like mac?? Mac isn't a heavier make up than other brands at a don't judge the brand by one foundation type, its products are designed to meet the needs of make up artist hence the name make up art cosmetics! Now mineral make up, they have been doing it for 9 years as ltd editions as it took so long to make. The sheer mineral make up in loose is a fantastic make up which is so pure you can use it after a facial, the main minerals in it are Mica and Zinc-oxide Mica is the natural metallic finish you see and zinc oxide is a natural spf! Use the 109 brush to get the best pay off by buffing it (circle motions small) Use it with moisture cover concealer to cover the stronger areas on your face only using a small amount with a 217 brush then buff the mineral over it. The colours as they are minerals and pure they come up quite dark I find anyways! With dry skin exfoliate and moisturize as usually a powder is one of the worst things to put on dry skin due to it mattifying if your skin is really thirsty trmoisture blendnd foundation with the mineral over it!!!

Hope this helps, oh and bare mineral hasn't got as pure a mineral content in it as the mac one! and I find looks too glittery!?

Good Luck

ShonaMAC mineral foundation OR Bare Escentuals(ID) mineral foundation?
I haven't tried mac, so i'm not sure about how to apply it and how it feels on your skin. I do use Bare Minerals, and although sometimes its a pain to go through the layers, it always turns out really light on my face and my skin still breathes. Also, it covers up blemishes without looking like you have a caked on layer of makeup on your face (which is what I see a lot of girls have when you have that matty face with lots of glitter on it and it just lets u know that yes she's pretty with makeup, but who the hell knows what she looks like without it, and also guys dont like kissing layers of heavy makeup.) I'm a fan of BM, it does a great job on my skin.

However, I know others that have an oilier skin, and they need heavier makeup like MAC to make sure it stays on.

It depends on your skin tone, just go to each counter at the mall on seperate days and test it out.
MAC of course......bare Escentuals are still new. Bobbi Brown also highly recommended.

You might want to try oil, cream or liquid form containing moisturizer by applying using damp latex sponges. Prime your face before putting your foundations with Prep and Prime.
M.A.C. Mineral Foundation is so much better than B.E.

Everyone always talks about how great B.E. is, but it breaks a lot of people out. MAC is excellent quality!

Could i be alergic to id bare mineral make up? help me! my face is itching!?

i just tried my new bare id mineral make up. i applied it just like the instructions said but after i applied it my face got little red spots and now it is itching! my sisters say bare minerals are awesome. they've used it for years and never have had a problem! could i be alergic to id bare minerals make up? or is it the new brush i'm using? the brush came with the bare mineral make up.....Could i be alergic to id bare mineral make up? help me! my face is itching!?
Oh no.

Okay read this, it is IMPORTANT.

There is an ingrediant in Bare Minerals called bismuth oxychloride. Check it if you don't believe me.

I used Bare Minerals a few months ago for the first time, loved how it looked, and after about a week I noticed a huge reaction to it.

I had broken out all over my cheeks!!! Badly! I stopped using it right away and months later, my skin has NOT cleared up. It has changed my skin. I hate it so much. I WISH more than anything I could go back in time and NEVER have used the damn thing.

STOP USING IT NOW!Could i be alergic to id bare mineral make up? help me! my face is itching!?
Oh yea, You could be very alergic to anything in that product.

If I were you I'd deffinetly stop using bare minerals! Then i'd go see my doctor about the alergic reaction so she could prescribe me something to repair any damages and help me to prevent it from happening again(:
i doubt you are allergic to it. check the brush content because you can't be allergic to those minerals. i have sensitive skin but it never did that. also it depends what your face wash is.
Yes! Those bare minerals are a rip off. my sister works in cosmetology and she got an AWFUL reaction from them and she says their prouducts are a joke. Then she put some on me and I dont have sensitive skin at all and then I got itchy too!
You are more than likely allergic if you are getting irritation. It is probably an ingredient in the mineral makeup.
yes u maybe u may want to use alcohol to take it off
u should c a doctor.

Has anyone gone swimming whilst wearing id bare escentuals mineral make up? How water resistant is it?

yes, i've gone swimming with it on. the real test for me was heat %26amp; humidity, it does not sweat off. it doesn't melt on your face, or in your purse. it gets really hot %26amp; humid, where i live, bare escentuals make-up holds up well.Has anyone gone swimming whilst wearing id bare escentuals mineral make up? How water resistant is it?
It's powder so no it's not water resistant.Has anyone gone swimming whilst wearing id bare escentuals mineral make up? How water resistant is it?
it'll come off.. meaning, dont wear it if youre going to swim.
i would advise against wearing makeup to the pool. no need for it, it will just wash off. just go natural.

Help with Bare Minerals ID foundation.?

I use Bare Minerals ID foundation and I have really dry skin so my makeup always looks cakey. It may be because I put maybe alot on but I need to do that to cover up my blemishes and for it to stay on all throughout the day. But it always does look cakey and it never fully stays on throughout the day. My skin gets really oily by the way. I find that if I put on the mineral veil durring the middle of the day it stays on and doesn't look as bad later on. Anyways how can I make it not look cakey and for it to stay on? And I do use moisturizer befor I put it on.Help with Bare Minerals ID foundation.?
Start out by using a make-up primer, Prime time foundation primer by Bare Minerals is silicone based, like many so to you it may feel greasy but it's not, it's the silicone. The primer will give the make-up an even surface to sit on.

Next, Cover any redness or blemishes with the multitasking Bisque or Summer bisque depending on your complexion. Use a concealer brush and make sure you blend the edge of each blemish. After that buff on your make-up. Put a little on, then buff buff buff! Bare Minerals is meant to be layered so don't load too much powder on to the brush at once. Once you've done your other complexion products, eyes, etc. use your mineral veil.

You say your skin is very dry but also very oily? Sounds imbalanced. I would guess that using a good exfoliant a few times a week would drastically change how your make-up wears.

Look for a product with Glycolic acid in it, if you can get to a Bare Escentuals store pick up the acne kit by MD Formulations. It is a 5 piece set that will provide you with all the products you need to get your skin back in shape. If you cant get to that head to the drugstore and pick up a cream cleanser, like Cetaphil. Follow that with a toner to balance your PH. I like Burts bees garden tomato or rosewater toner for acne. Follow with a moisturizer.

In the evenings treat your acne with a spot treatment, I like MD formulations Glycare acne gel, products with Salycilic acid, Tea tree oil and Benzoyl peroxide are great too.

Exfoliate a few times a week with a Glycol based product, avoid any ';scrubs'; unless they are Jojoba beads, otherwise they may irritate your skin.

Finally, you can set your make-up using a fine mist. I mix distilled water with a few drops of Lavender essential oil. The lavender is antibacterial and will help to kill bacteria while the water sets the make-up.Help with Bare Minerals ID foundation.?
I just started using Bare Minerals and I love it. However, I have read many contradicting reviews on it... a lot of people have complained of getting badly clogged pores, itchiness during the day (especially summer), because of an ingredient called Bismuth Oxychloride that is in it. I have yet to experience any side effects (If any at all, my skin is quite clear), and I am not sure how long you have been using the product, but it is just something to look out for.

You should try using a toner (I use Nivea Visage), then moisturize, then apply a primer. This will help it to go on smoother. Also make sure that you tap off the brush after swirling it in the foundation.
I know where your coming from, i wear a lot of makeup and it all comes off in the day and i try to cover my bags and freckles and everything... argh so annoying :L Moisturise and then use a mattifying gel before you put on foundation and then put on dream matte mousse and then miss sporty so clear coverstick because then you can just put it on in the morning and then in the afternoon so it lasts and it looks natural and really nice (and their both cheap)!!!

    xxx
Bare Minerals is your problem and your dermatologist is not being truthful with you. Bare Minerals is loaded with BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE a form of ARSENIC LEAD that occurs in the soil naturally this is harmful to your health as well as it DOES irritate your skin, makes it itch and clogs pores. It is the single worst product that you could put on your face.
okay, if you wish to continue using that foundation, then the only thing i'd recommend is to have a daily routine with your skin, i'm sure it will help with your blemish problem. :)

okay first of all we'll need to cleanse your skin, so pick a cleanser and you mentioned you have dry skin yes? so pick one specialized for that, or for ';sensitive skin. i don't recommend something on a pad, it can be too rough on your skin. Some tips when you're washing your face, is to get a soft cloth. Put it in some hot water (not too hot) then put it on your face to open your pores. Leave it on there for about 30 seconds. After you've done that, apply the cleanser. and wash very well. remember to leave it on there for a bit while you do other activities like combing your hair or brushing Your teeth. :) This makes the cleanser work like 3 times better.

Then apply a toner. There's lots out there so consult someone, pharmacist?) or whoever's there. That should do it.

Okay now with the makeup, i'd suggest something liquid? they make Liquid mineral makeup, or just ask the person at the store. After that, then put on a mineral veil. :) You don't need to use moisturizer if you're using liquid. If you cake, you have a better chance of getting blemishes. and the liquid should make it not lok cakey.

Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals ID Makeup - Opinions Please!?

I have seen the infomercials on Bare Minerals Makeup, that states it is ';so natural and pure you can sleep in it';.

I am 36 (but look 10 years younger!) no wrinkles, am very fair with freckles. No major skin issues...occasional breakout and slightly oily T-zone, but my skin is a little sensitive. Because I am so fair, makeup is a challenge to not look like I'm wearing a mask.

Anyone who has used this product, your input would be fantastic before I spend so much $$$ on it.Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals ID Makeup - Opinions Please!?
I have very sensitive skin, and my Dermatologist told me the reason why most woman breakout from makeup is due to the filler bismith oxychloride. I see a lot of people suggest bare minerals, but it is not a completely natural makeup as they believe. Check out the ingredients, and you will see that it contains bismuth oxychloride. Bismith oxychloride is the by-product of lead and copper refining. It is also related to arsenic. I suggest getting a makeup without the chemical and see the difference. Here is some information on bismith oxychloride, which is found it pretty much every makeup line. http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Starn鈥?/a>

Conventional foundation is made with 90% fillers and 10% color pigment. Fillers such as talc, oil, preservatives, dye and fragrances are the number one cause for breakouts and skin irritations.

I found another brand called Bella Pierre, and it truly is hypo allergenic and only made of minerals. I purchase mine at http://www.bpcosmetics.com

Bella Pierre can also be purchased at http://www.bellapierre.com but for double the price of what you can get it at http://www.bpcosmetics.com

I too have fair skin, and have been using their mineral foundation called ivory. It goes on so lightly and evenly. It is a very natural look for me. As well, it feels like I am not even wearing any makeup.

Whenever I order from bpcosmetics.com, I receive my makeup within 3 days and shipping is $5.00, can't beat that at all! Also, if you are interested, I just received a coupon code from them for 10% off the order. The code is PROMO, and I think it said it was good till the end of february.Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals ID Makeup - Opinions Please!?
i personally LOVE it !!!!!!!!!! i could not go with out it!
bareMinerals foundation ($25) is the loose-powder foundation that put bare escentuals on the map and it is the backbone of this makeup line. This talc-free, mica-based powder has a soft, almost creamy texture and an undeniably shiny finish. The titanium dioxide and bismuth oxychloride lend this powder its opacity, medium coverage, and slightly thick finish. Nine shades are available, and they tend to lean a bit too far into the rose and peach zones, but not enough to avoid them. However, if this type of foundation with all of its trappings appeals to you, Jane Iredale鈥檚 Amazing Base SPF 20 ($35.50) offers a smoother formula, an effective titanium dioxide鈥揵ased sunscreen, and more neutral colors--not to mention a pressed-powder option for those who don鈥檛 want to deal with the fallout from loose powder!
Bare Minerals is fantastic. I have the same type of combo skin but most foundations would cause breakouts. I ordered the kit on line but found I don't use the warmth or the finishing powder. The best way is to find a Sephora store so you can try it out to find the best shade for you. My daughter is very fair and she uses the ';fairly light'; and never looks made up.

Now that we both know our shades we order from Sephora on line. We also use Sephora lip gloss and shimmer powders.

Also, a kabuki (Sp?) is needed for best application. I don't even use the one bare minerals sent. I got a cheap one a Walgreen's and it works great. Be sure and use very little and swirl it on and I think you will be very pleased.
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It only has 4 ingredients in it.
STAY AWAY FROM BARE MINERALS!!! It is so bad for you!

Bare Minerals contains fillers such as bismith oxychloride, methalparaben, and polyparaben.

Just so everyone knows methalparaben which again is found in Bare Minerals has been linked to cancer/breast cancer....

Bismith oxychloride is a by product from lead and copper.

I hate-hate-hate Bare Minerals! It doesn't cover @ all! I'm in my mid 20's %26amp; my mom is in her mid 40's %26amp; we both love Loreal's Bare Naturale which is only ($12) @ Walmart's/Target's/Walgreens, etc. I'll never wear anything else again!
    i dont use it
My roommate uses it and she looks great. Her complexion is always flawless.

(In the past, she's had a hard time finding the right shade in make up, but this product seems to really work well for her -- it blends really well, and doesn't cake or smear... it also can be used darker around the cheeks and edge of the face for a natural ';bronzed tan'; look...)
I've tried this product and really like it. It does have a bit of a sheen, but it is very pretty.
it works but not like they show on tv it wont hide rosatia and if you have blemishes it wont hide those either but it is a good powder if your cheeks are pink from being in the cold or something then you put that on and it does cover it up but i dont think it is worth the money.
YES YES AND YES it works. You dont need much and your face does look flawless. I have sun spots being 42 and it covers them up.. Of course i got the light sunscreen powder to do that. You really dont need much and the eyeshadows will last forever and so will the makeup if you use a light hand! Go to QVC and check out the starter kits they have,,,,

try using the full flawless brush instead of the buki brush big difference. Also make sure you really buff it into skin. Sounds dumb but I changed from med beige to light and it really made a difference. Hope that helpsId bare minerals help.....?(:?
Try the mineral veil underneath. Then put on the foundation. If you have the concealer brush, you can use that on the freckles you're really trying to hide. Then another layer of mineral veil. I always get compliments on my makeup and I've used this for years. Invest in the concealer brush. You don't need to get the bisque, but use the brush with the foundation instead for all the trouble areas.
I'm buying id bare minerals to cover my misfit few freckles... And, this is what my app. with be like revlon colorstay liquid foundation not too much and, id bare minerals on top with mineral veil. (: I've seen it works. Oh and, fix plus is great to make that flawless look and, natural.

I've never heard of Sheer Cover before but my experience with Bare Minerals was not a good one.

For me it gave 0 coverage and when the weather is hot or im sweating my whole face burns and only does that when i wear BM.my eyes burn too[this also affected my mother].

Their eyeshadow doesn't stay very long either.

But it may just be us. everyone else likes it so i guess give it a try. oh and btw, the kabuki brush that comes with the kit will break within a few months. if you buy it separately from the kit it doesn't break. Why that happens i dont know why. but a sales lady said that happens all the time and that the brushes in the kit aren't made the same as the ones you buy individually.

hope this helpedSheer Cover Vs. Id Bare Minerals?
I like Bare Minerals, but over time I have started to prefer Ecco Bella and Burt's Bees. In terms of coverage (blemishes, etc), Bare Minerals is a little better than Ecco Bella, but if your skin is breaking out, it can be indicative of a poor diet or stress.

I don't have to wear much foundation because I take an herbal combination called Skin Detox from a company called Nature's Sunshine. Since I don't eat a lot of junk food in the first place, the herbal combo helps give my skin that extra boost to stay clear, which results in me having better coverage results with Ecco Bella and Burt's Bees.
Ive been using Bare Minerals for about 4 years and I wouldnt use anything else. Its amazing! It makes your face look flawless, and actually improves your skin. I had a hard time covering up blemishes, and dark marks left over from acne- but Bare Minerals really work. Yes they're a little pricey but their products last a while, because you dont even need to apply that much to see a difference! Good luck!
First of all for every 1 person that loves either one of these products there are 40+ that have allergic reactions, beak outs and irritation.

    THE REASON:

Both contain an ingredient called bismuth oxychloride which is a form of arsenic lead this is a heavy metal that clogs pores and irritates the skin also creating massive itching.

As a professional makeup artist I say STAY AWAY from BOTH!

The only mineral makeup I found that is hypo allergenic and free of arsenic lead ';Bismuth'; is

Bee Luscious Liquid to Powder Minerals and the mieral pressed.

if your young i don't not recommend either one i used to use bare minerals but it would dry out my skin, you should try an oil-free foundation like Smashbox..... i personally find that it covers more that bare minerals or sheer cover
Sheer Cover in my opinion I have tried both and sheer cover covers better than bare minerals but still is light weight and you cant tell you are wearing makeup.

    ID. Bare minerals question :)?

I was thinking about buying the bare minerals foundation because Ive heard good things. When I looked at it at sephora and played with it on my hand I noticed that it had like of like shimmer/sparkles in it. I really wouldn't want a powder to use all over to have shimmer in it and look like i have glitter all over my face. I like matte.

What do you think? Is it really that bad, or barely able to tell? thanks :)ID. Bare minerals question :)?
It must have been sparkle from somthing else

because the bareminerals foundations have 0 sparkle or

any artificial stuff added to it.

you can check the ingredients yourself and see that there isnt anything like that in it.ID. Bare minerals question :)?

I have used both MAC and Bare Minerals. I would say that I choose MAC. I like the cover up. Some people do break out but would I do is wash my face at least twice a day and use oil blot sheets. Works really well for me. And when it comes to bare minerals...this is where it threw me off. They say its really good for your skin and it made me break out horribly. So i returned it the very next day.

Hope this Helps!Mac or skin id bare minerals?
I'm a big time fan of mac makeup, however I have realized that it is very greasy and it makes skin break out very easily. I would go with the bare minerals skin Id because it is specially formulated with skin healthy minerals, where as mac is just good looking makeup that isn't that healthy for your skin. Hope this helps!
The Bare Minerals. If you try it, make sure to practice. It takes a couple times to learn how to use it. Put just a tiny bit in the lid, swirl the brush and buff, buff, buff. It doesn't feel like it's doing anything, because you can't feel it. I used way to much the first time. It's much better for the skin and isn't heavy.

Some people (very few) can't wear it because of the bismuth. I've never known anyone to break out from it though. Just the bismuth makes them itch. Like I said though, very few. Several of my friends and family wear it without any problems and we love it.
Mac is intense and heavy; its more theatrical then practical. I'd go with the bare minerals. I'm happy with mine. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>
    bare minerals by far!

i find mac to be over priced and not that great. mac is used for more along the lines of photoshoots, and get's cakey looking after just a couple hours.

i think both are good at first then later it turn to get oily later in the day and make my skin itch.. I love prescriptive mineral foundation
bare minerals for sure! It's all I use. It's $$$$, but it lasts forever and looks and feels great on.

Why is id bare minerals better than normal loose powder?

Wrong section, but to answer your question- the bare minerals aren't like normal makeup. They are just that natural. I use it and I will never go back to normal makeup. It covers wondefully and it good enough to sleep in without clogging pores. It's a little pricey, but well worth it.Why is id bare minerals better than normal loose powder?

  • Bare minerals id, does it work?

hey so i am rlly looking for a good foundation, and on the bare minerals sight it looks like that product really works!!! I was just wondering though, does it looks like weird and stuff under florecent lighting and outdoors, or does it look natural all around? plz b honest! Thanks!Bare minerals id, does it work?
rub your face in the dirt its the ssddBare minerals id, does it work?
I liked it, but for me, I didn't really get as good of coverage as I wanted. If you don't have any skin problems you would probably be fine wearing it. But go to a store and have them show you how to do it and wear it for a day, some people can react to some of the stuff in it. I didn't have any problems with bad lighting, the only thing the guy at the store warned me about was wearing SPF under and then having a photo taken with a flash, he said it would give off a slightly glowing reflective look in the photo, unfortunately I never got to try this out so I'm not sure how true it is.
very very bad for your skin! believe me if you want but my mom works in the makeup business and she has looked into this. arbonne is good. all natural so it doesnt hurt your skin and it makes it look flawless. hope that helps!
i use bare minerals, and i really like it. you can mix different foundation colors together to even out your skin tone, and it's the most natural looking make-up i've tried so far.
If you go to Sephora you can try it yourself.

Tru Minerals compaired to id bare minerals?? which do u like better and why??

I've only used Bare minerals and I love it. it's great for my skin because i have VERY sensitive skin and I usually breakout if I use any other make up. it also looks very natural and is made up of natural minerals its great. you can go on www.bareminerals.com and get a starter package or you can look on ebay. hope this helped
I use BE (Bare Escentuals, which IS Bare Minerals but always confuses me)

I've tried lots of other mineral makeup as well, but I always go back to my BE.

    BE is probably better.

You should check out makeupalley.com. LOTS of reviews on every kind of cosmetic. EVER. Seriously, you will love me for giving you this website.
Honestly i can't say, i've tried but cannot find an ingredient listing for tru minerals.

the bismuth in bare minerals made me break out and itch so i would defiantly not pick that!

I use Simply-Minerals which is filler and bismuth free, less expensive then either of your two choices, and offer FREE shipping! They are truly great!

I love my Bare Minerals, but I never tried True Minerals. I also use the Physicians Formula, but I think the Bare Minerals looks more natural.
Bare Minerals is the best. All the other brands copied them.
I used to use Bare Minerals. They were okay. Then I tried Everyday Minerals, which is cheaper. And it was so much better! It was amazing. My skin looked flawless. The best part was the cost- I got 2 foundations, a concealer, a blush, ';finishing dust'; (which is like mineral veil) and a brush for like $35. Beat that, Bare Minerals!

It is only sold online, though.

Is id bare minerals make-up waterproof?

It is not water proof. Is id bare minerals make-up waterproof?

Are 'Bare Minerals'; and ';ID Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals'; the same thing?

Are 'Bare Minerals'; (i.e. the one advertised on TV) and ';ID Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals'; (what I keep finding on searches) the same thing. If not, what's the difference and which is better. Are 'Bare Minerals'; and ';ID Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals'; the same thing?
Yes. Bare Escentuals is the name of the company, bare minerals is the foundations themselves. I used to work at Sephora %26amp; Ulta, people would come in asking all the time :) Are 'Bare Minerals'; and ';ID Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals'; the same thing?
Yes. With that said I would stay away from Bare Escentuals. I am a makeup artist, I have used them in the past and had quite a bit of complaints from my clientele (about itchiness, irritation and breakouts).

You should not use Bare Escentuals (this is why...)

1)They say pure minerals- NOPE! They use a cheap filler called Bismuth oxychloride which is not an actual mineral but a METAL that has been processed with tin and copper. It is a major skin irritant and can cause itching, rash and acne. (This is in almost all mainstream mineral makeup- AVON, loreal, maybelline, revlon, etc.....) (google bare escentuals bismuth oxychloride itch and you will see thousands of people who have had a reaction to them)

2)They say No preservatives- Nope! They use parabean preservatives in their mineral veils and other skin care items

    3) They use cheap fillers (besides bismuth they use cornstarch)

4)They get greasy and shiny by afternoon and start to slide off the face

5)They are overpriced and overhyped for what they are giving you

What I *NOW use on myself and clientele and why........

Faerie Organic Minerals is the best I have come across for many factors heres my list............

1)They are all natural, No preservatives at all, no parabeans,

2)No cheap fillers, No BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, no cornstarch or talc

3)They do not coat their minerals (some companies do this and you should be aware, they are not good for your skin and could cause chemical rash or acne) some companies coat their minerals with dimethicone, silicone or other synthetic ingredients

4)They do not use nano particles or microparticles (some companies brag about these particles) they are very dangerous to your health when inhaled, which is common since minerals are loose powder.

5)They use an expensive high end mineral called Boron Nitride which is the main ingredient I look for as boron is amazing for the skin. It is known to be antibacterial (helps heal acne while you wear it), a skin perfector and soother.

6)Their minerals are LIGHT, AIRY, NATURAL LOOKING, DEWY and have AMAZING COVERAGE!

7)Their minerals last all day even in extreme heat

    8) Their minerals are NOT chalky, powdery, orangey, dull, shiny or greasy. They look like your natural skin only better.

9)They are more affordable than most brands.

10)They offer a FREE sample kit so you can try before you buy (you just pay shipping, like $5.99)

This is what I have been using and my clientele loves it, I wouldn't change. I know you will too, just check it out. http://www.faerieorganic.com

Faerie organics ingredients are: Mica, Boron Nitride, Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide, (iron oxides+ultramarines (what makes it colored) That is it! No crazy chemicals that have links to cancers!

I want to try ID bare minerals, but is it good for oily skin?

yes. i have oily skin and i use it and it works great. its the only makeup that doesn't break me out either.I want to try ID bare minerals, but is it good for oily skin?
Just wash your face twice too reduce oil buildup and use a somewhat dry moisturizer; something that doesn't feel too rich or creamy. You should be fineee [: You can also try oil absorbing sheets, you can get them from MAC or Sonia Kashuk which is sold at Target retailers, they work wonders during the day. [:I want to try ID bare minerals, but is it good for oily skin?
Yes it kind of prevents it too since there isnt liquid stuff on your face. It really just feels like your regular face for the most part. The downside is that it comes off on things if you rub against it like hugging someone.
well i guess it depends on the person. some people have said it makes oily skin look even worse. but i have oily skin and it works great for me =]
    it works for me.
    it works great...x

I am 53 and I love it. My daughter uses it. My daughter-in-laws love it . I can not think of anyone I know that doesn't useBMid in my circle of friends and relatives. Those who have used Bare Escentials or Bare Minerals ID?
Peapie, thank you for the BA.... I needed something to put a smile on my face Report Abuse

I'm 16 and it is fantastic! My cousin has bad acne and got it and I always thought it was gross and looked so fake. But I realized that she put way too much on. I tried it one day after using Mac for the longest time and it is sooooo much beter for your skin. I honestly always get complemented for looking ';flawless';. It is very helpful the way that the people who sell it teach you to put it on and the brushes to use. I always come home late on the weekends and feel no need to wash my face because it is so nice. I have been using it for 5 months and I have absolutely no complaints except to do your best not to drop the make-up! I highly recomend it.

  • The Steps to using ID Bare Escentuals Minerals Foundation?

I know Id bare has a wide rang of different products, so I wanted to know the complete process of putting them all on ? I understand theres the Skin Rev-er upper and theres the primer, the mineral veil powder and the minerals foundation - and all the other products - what are the steps on putting all those products on ??

ThanksThe Steps to using ID Bare Escentuals Minerals Foundation?
Always start with moisturizer, it prevents cakiness. Then start with you apply the skin rev-er upper to prepare your skin. The primer goes on next to make your skin smooth and prepare for foundation application.

I apply the foundation all over first, then cover dark circles and other blemishes by using the concealer brush. Then you should apply your bronzer if you have one, and next comes the mineral veil all over.

You can apply some blush too, as well as eyeliner and don't forget mascara. You apply eyeshadow before eyeliner and mascara. These extra steps are optional, but that's how you use bare minerals. The Steps to using ID Bare Escentuals Minerals Foundation?
    1. Apply Bare Minerals Foundation using a kabuki brush

    2. Apply Warmth which is a few shades darker then your foundation on the top of your forehead, the apples of the cheeks, and along or jaw bone using the full coverage brush.

    3. Finally lightly dust the mineral veil over your whole entire face using the handi buki brush

    * You do not have to buy all of these individual brushes i recommend buying the kabuki brush for your foundation at the least.*

How does id Bare Minerals makeup look on african americans? ?

They have two different sets for African American skin tones, so either one would probably be a match. Next time they are selling Bare Escentuals on QVC, watch the show, because they always use different models with different skin tones and they have this gorgeous African American model and the makeup looks great on her.How does id Bare Minerals makeup look on african americans? ?
My friend said hers from B.E. looked ';ashy'; in the sun light. I don't think they have the ingredients right for African Americans. Then she got started using mineral makeup from Valana Minerals and it looks fantastic!

Lemme see if i can find her website. http://www.valanaminerals.com/How does id Bare Minerals makeup look on african americans? ?
I only use the mineral veil, but I love how it feels on my skin! It's very pricey, so I don't use all of the other makeup...I stick to M.A.C. and the Loreal H.I.P (they eye shadows are SWEET).
I don't know, but they have all kind of bare mineral shades.

Just fine one that suits your skin tone and try it for yourself.

You never know till you try.
my friend wears and it looks good on her

I just got id bare minerals natural light does any one know how to apply it?

Ok what's your supposed to do is put some of the powder in the lid, then take the brush and swirl it around in the lid, then tap the excess off, and apply it all over your face in a circular motion. Always blend into your hairline and lightly on your neck so you wont get the ';mask'; look .I just got id bare minerals natural light does any one know how to apply it?
Here is their website below. There are several videos on how to apply their make up. They may mention some brushes or product that you do not have. Not to worry. If you like you can always add to your collection a little at a time if you like their product. They also have a starter kit that you can order from the site, etc.

After watching the videos and applying the make up yourself, if you are not happy with the result, consider calling the folks at Sephora and asking them if you may bring your product back and let one of their make up artists show you how to apply it.

It is good for the skin because it is actually minerals from the earth. But even so, I would not sleep in it. ALWAYS wash make up off your face before sleeping. It can break you out if you begin sleeping in it!

Use a Kabuki brush or the Beautyblender sponge and do as the others said :)

I Have been watching commercials about id Bare Minerals make up products for a while. So, eventhough I was?

using Avon make up products for a long time, and very satisfied with them, I decided to try Bare Minerals make up products. I spent $60 for 2 very small container of face powder that was supposed to be VERY GOOD According to the owner of the company, and the testamonials. I am black and I bought exactly the shade that was right for me. When I get them a week or 2 later, I was very disapointed to find out that it's nothing like they keep saying on the commercials. It makes my face looks bad. The Avon product look way better than the id bare minerals'. the Avon face powder is only $7 and change, and It's REALLY good. Anyone has a bad experience with this expensive brand ID BARE MINERALS.

P.S I am a customer, not a AVOn representative.I Have been watching commercials about id Bare Minerals make up products for a while. So, eventhough I was?
I totally agree with you! It's high end trash! You can get the same thing in a drugstore carried brand called Physician's Formula for about a quarter of the price, and let me tell you, it looks much better than Bare Minerals. Ridiculous.I Have been watching commercials about id Bare Minerals make up products for a while. So, eventhough I was?
untrue, do your research. Report Abuse

i am also a customer, not a bare escentuals rep. i've been using bare minerals for 6 years now, so have most of my friends, and we all love it. it is the absolute best make-up i've ever used.the full size foundation costs 25.00, and lasts me about one year, that's 2.08/month. how long does the 7.00 avon powder last you ? i have never tried avon, but if you like it better, return bare minerals, and stick with avon. for 60.00 you should have gotten a kit containing more than 2 small containers. typically you'd get 2 shades of foundation, 2 brushes, mineral veil, warmth, glee, and the how-to dvd. it takes a while to get used to how little you use, and the different application method. i am sorry to hear, that you don't like it. the company has been around for 30 years, won major awards, and is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it is good for the skin.i, as well as 18 of my friends (all different skin tones, btw) totally love bare minerals, it is way cheaper in the long run, than any other brand we've used. good luck with avon !
I have bare minrals and i think its amazing!!!!
i don't know. i guess bare minerals isn't for everyone. i use it and i love it.

Could ID Bare Minerals foundation be making my acne worse?

I changed foundation as I heard mineral make up is better for the skin. However, my acne has worsened and my pores seem enlarged. Also, when I wear the make up my face feels tight and dry.Could ID Bare Minerals foundation be making my acne worse?
It's possible yes. Maybe you are allergic to something they use in it? Or it could be the change in weather or your diet. Do you drink enough water?

Anyway, stop using it and see if your skin feels better. Then you'll know that's what it was.
